Dancers should wear a black leotard or black sports bra and shorts/leggings along with the appropriate dance shoes. At auditions, dancers should expect: turns, leaps, combinations across the floor, improv opportunities, and special skill presentations. Auditions will be over a course of two days with cuts after day one, day two, and then a final decision a few days following auditions. Auditions will be held the weekend after Campus Life Night each semester at a GVSU on-campus location in the Fieldhouse, Rec Center, or Kelly Turf building. The reason we have auditions is to keep a close-knit team aspect and to keep dancers working together at an advanced skill level.

Day 1: Dancers will learn across the floor combinations, turning combinations, a lyrical combination, and a jazz combination. Technical skills that could be included in these combinations include; right leaps, left leaps, center leaps, calypso, disc jumps, pirouettes, second turns, leg turns, and jazz walks. First round of cuts will happen after day 1.

Day 2: Dancers will perform both combinations learned on previous day in small groups, have an improv opportunity, a special skills opportunity, and interviews with e-board. Special tricks could be; aerials, headsprings, kip ups, or anything else. Second-round cuts will take place after day 2.
